An Introduction: Lac Bernard Exclusive Carp Fishing Lake

Welcome to Lac Bernard Exclusive Carp Fishing Lake blog

Lac Bernard is an exclusive carp fishing lake in Northern France, just two and a half hours drive from Calais and will be open to fishers in April 2016.

The lake itself is almost ready, with only a few pegs and final adjustments to be made before opening next Spring. Lac Bernard is British owned, we started this journey and our dream just over 3 years ago and now its finally becoming a reality.

The Lake

The lake is roughly 5.7 acres of water and is suitable for a maximum of 4 anglers with the choice of 5 swims. The depths of the lake vary from 5 to 14 feet throughout and with a gravel pit bottom.

To offer maximum potential for fishers all pegs have been situated on the same side of the lake where the water is straight in front and to the side which gives greater potential for catching moving fish and a fair chance for all fishers.

The Fish

Currently the lake holds an unknown amount of fish but we have managed to capture a whopping 33lb fish this year, so it's safe to say there are many hidden jewels in this lake at the moment.

However in November 2015 we will be adding our first delivery to the lake with a variety of weights from a highly reputable breeder. We opted for a total of half a tonne hand picked Common, Grass and Mirror species which will hopefully make the transition and find Lac Bernard as their new home for years to come.

The Facilities

Our stone built cabin is located at peg 2 and features insulted walls as well as a 20ft decking in front on the cabin for fishing and BBQ's with a cover to protect you against any rain.

Inside the cabin you have a lovely fitted kitchenette, gas hob, sink, fridge, wood stove, cupboards, table and chairs. Full electricity for lighting and sockets to charge items which is supplied by a combination of a generator and solar power. You have a fully functional shower and toilet at the rear of the cabin.

We are still currently refurbishing and decorating the cabin until its open in April 2016 so it's in the best possible condition for our new fishers.
